Social Media has intruded in our private lives like never before. Every action of ours is now captured on a cell phone and released that very moment on FB, Instagram or WhatsApp. Whether you like it or not but you have been tagged! Apart from social media platforms, cell phone manufacturers are also to be blamed for this action called “Tagged”.

On one hand, the platforms are updating their versions every now and then with better features and on the other the cell phone companies are improving their cameras day by day. i-Phone, Samsung, One Plus and many others are all in the race to launch high pixel cameras with a wider angle and better night vision lens.

Every phone whether Android or i-Phone carries social media thereby making tagging not only easy but also immediate.

Let’s enjoy the funnier side of Tagging

You are scrolling the social media app on your mobile and suddenly found that you have been tagged.  The picture which has been uploaded on FB or Instagram or Whatsapp is one of your not so good looking one. On the other hand your friends have already started liking your photo with few funny comments.

1.When you are tagged

The boss has liked the picture and it’s very clear to him why you have taken an off from work? You are just guessing who is this idiot friend who has tagged you the very next morning of the party. Obviously, you are looking awful in the picture. It’s a separate issue that the entire gang is looking like Sadak chaap (Roadside bullies). The first-morning taunt comes from your wife as she she has already seen your picture on FB. A snide remark is what you were expecting -“You are looking the most drunk”.

2. Daughter gets tagged

Your daughter is very upset as she is not looking pretty at all in the picture. She is just not happy to be clicked randomly where she didn’t get a chance to get ready and fails to understand why her friends are still using vintage phones. Why can’t they buy latest i-Phones to click pictures ? The situation gets further aggravated when her best friend gets a lot of compliments from friends in the group.

3. Son gets tagged

You realise that your son has a pretty looking girl-friend and tease him that you know his secret though he gives a damm about it. He is more concerned about mother as she should not see his picture with a beer bottle in his hand.

4. Wife gets tagged

Your wife decides that she needs to buy new attire for the next party as all her friends have now seen the one, she was wearing at the party. Your wife is not able to recognise herself in the picture and the parlor lady is getting the choicest of words as she over did the make-up. She keeps checking herself 4-5 times in the mirror saying that she doesn’t look as stout as she is looking in the picture.

5. You feel gagged

Few of your friends and relatives are upset that you didn’t invite them to the birthday party you had thrown for friends at home. You are blaming your daughter on why she uploaded the picture on social media and tagged everybody. Wife gets an early morning call from one of the nosy ones inquiring about what was served and how come it was planned so suddenly without them coming to know about it.

6. You feel hanged

When your wife checks with you about a female name who has liked you in the photo whom she is not familiar with even though she knows all of your friends. You are just cursing your stars!

The Repercussions of being tagged

The immediate impact is visible when

1. One of the close ones leaves the WhatsApp family or friends group as he is unhappy.
2. Block a friend on your FB group who has this habit of uploading the entire 80-100 pictures clicked in the party without any screening.
3. Call your friend who has tagged you to un-tag you it as you are concerned about your image in the office.
4.  You exit from the group on WhatsApp when the pressure gets too much.
5. You get clicked at the next party but warn your friend not to tag you.
