About Us

The Universe is made up of thousands of stars, each shining away in the sky. Some are visible to the naked eye while some remain in the dark. Similarly, in this Galaxy of blogging world, there is a new star which is born called – The Con Artist Alok.in. So how will this star make a difference? I will start with a famous quote of Mark Twain, “The human race has one really effective weapon and that is laughter”.

Somewhere in the journey of life, happiness and laughter have taken a back seat. Happiness is an important ingredient of our life which keeps most of the ailments away. Still we prefer to choose stress, an ingredient which tastes sour and reduces our life expectancy. Through this blog, I want to put the smile back on all my friends who will be reading it. It will give me immense satisfaction, if i can play a small role in bringing happiness in their life.

A Star in a distant horizon is now visible

My name is Alok Srivastava and I used to be good looking some 25 years back (that is what my wife says). Inspired by daily life, I am fond of writing on various subjects like family, friends, our daily chores or with people whom we interact on a daily basis, can be a driver or the housing complex security guard. I have been writing on social media for more than last 6- 7 years and have lot of friends. A lot many friends have asked me to start writing a blog and so here I am with a blog to make you smile.

Why a Blog after so many years?

Well, few of you may even question that why a blog after 6-7 years of being present on social media. I come from an Asian country- India known for Taj Mahal and Mangoes. A Mango, when ripe, is sweet and full of juices and is best enjoyed during the summers. Then there are few mangoes which don’t get a chance to ripe as they are plucked midway to make pickles. I am a mango that never got plucked when it was green. I have ripened after ages and am sweet to taste. You can also enjoy me as a sweet pickle garnished with lot of garlic, chilly, mustard oil and soaked in sun. In India, we call it Murrabba.

I also work in the corporate world and am based in Gurgaon, a happening part of National Capital Region of Delhi. Inspired by my corporate learning, I also have been writing on Linked-in for quite some time. My favorite subject is “Work Culture”. I have created a section in this blog called “The Knowledge Park”.The idea is to share with you my perspective of the working culture in today’s corporate world. In case you find it boring you can switch to “The cafeteria”. Cafeteria is a section to get updated on the latest corporate practices. For the rest who want to start their day with a smile, I will recommend “The Fun Zone”.

I will be happy to get a feedback from you as it will make the pickle taste even better. As the journey will progress, I will add few more sections so that you can halt more.
