A Virus Invasion in the world of Mosquitoes and Houseflies

It’s the onset of spring in India. You can see colourful flowers blooming in the spring season all over Delhi. On the other hand, you can see the black and grey mosquitoes and houseflies booming in large numbers.

Houseflies and mosquitoes are feeling threatened by Covid-19
Feeling threatened by the virus

The houseflies and mosquitoes have a new threat and they are panicking. No, it’s not from a new killer version of Goodnight, Mortein or Hit but from a virus invasion in their city. The virus invasion has not impacted them directly but it has attacked their victims – human beings. No more humans are concerned about the irritating housefly or the blood-sucking vampire. They are only taking precautions to save themselves from the new virus invasion which has landed from China.

In the aftermath of virus invasion, houseflies and mosquitoes get neglected

Washing hands and keeping your mouth covered is the best way to avoid the virus invasion
Taking precautions to avoid the coronavirus

Human beings are taking extra precautions to combat the deadly virus. They are not bothered about the houseflies and the mosquitoes anymore. Suddenly, it seems that the mosquito bite is no more lethal and the houseflies are no more deadly and irritating. The threat of malaria, dengue, chikungunya and cholera have receded in the background and the only threat looming over their head is Covid -19.

The houseflies are surprised. Despite their attack on human beings since human civilization came into existence, they couldn’t force humans to maintain hygiene. On the other hand, the mosquitoes are feeling let down. Even after decades they couldn’t force humans to maintain cleanliness in their neighborhood and cities.

Houseflies flourish in unhygienic conditions,
Long live human beings and long live their shit!

Virus invasion that rocked the world

The virus invasion has not only taken the country but even the world by surprise. Countries having a cold climate like Europe or the northern part of the USA and Canada do not offer citizenship to mosquitoes and houseflies. As a result these countries are free from their menace. But they couldn’t stop the virus invasion. Cold weather is a perfect breeding ground for the virus. As a result countries like Italy, Britain, Germany, Spain, South Korea and even the USA are seeing it’s maximum impact..

It’s only tropical countries like India, South East Asia, Africa which offer visa on arrival to mosquitoes and houseflies. Therefore you see the maximum impact there. Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, Cholera are diseases of the third-world countries.

Houseflies and Mosquitoes a worried community

The worried community of houseflies meet to find a solution
If our victims get wiped out we will also get wiped out

An emergency meeting was called by leaders of both the communities. The housefly community was very much worried. All of a sudden, humans were washing their hands and maintaining proper hygiene. As a result the houseflies were not able to touch their bodies or land on them. On the other hand, mosquitoes were not able to get close to their victim because of the horrible hand sanitizer and the disinfectant smell emanating from them.

Cities looked like a ghost town. Food courts, eateries and roadside restaurants, a favourite joint of houseflies wore a deserted look. The garbage dumps were segregated in green and blue plastic bins properly covered. The houseflies realised that this was a doomsday for them and they were virtually staring at the end of the world scenario.

The confused community of mosquitoes discussing the impact of virus invasion
Whom should we bite?

The situation of the mosquito community was even worse. People had resorted to quarantine keeping themselves locked in a house. Social gatherings like weddings and birthday parties virtually came to a standstill. The authorities have issued an advisory to avoid weddings or any other large gatherings.  Mosquitoes were unable to assemble and attack humans in an open-air wedding party or a music concert. Also their favourite victim, children were no more seen playing in the parks in the evening. To aggravate the situation even the domestic helps who were easy prey for the mosquitoes were seen maintaining hygiene at their home. Washing hands regularly, cleaning their home with disinfectants and using hand sanitizers sounded the death knell for them.

The Leaders meet the PMO to discuss the impact of Virus invasion

A meeting of mosquitoes and houseflies
Sir we need your help!

The leader of the mosquito and housefly community decide to seek help from the Government of India and seek an urgent appointment with the PMO office. Being natural inhabitants of the country the PMO decided to give them a patient hearing.

The leaders of both the community speak their minds out in how their race is facing extinction from the country. They tell the PMO that human community especially the political leaders should be grateful to them. The housefly and mosquito community have run crash courses for many central ministers on short notice in the past. The knowledge imparted by them on the art of licking and sucking has helped many ministers reach a cabinet position. After all, to reach that position you need to practice a lot of licking and sucking the seniors.

Coronavirus gets transmitted by human contact
Even the government is trying its best to control it.

The PMO explains to them that the central government has no hand in the virus invasion. Also, the PM is happy to see that the citizens are taking extreme precautions to avoid the virus by maintaining proper hygiene. What the PM couldn’t accomplish through Swachh Bharat in years the Covid -19 virus has done in one month. But he would certainly like to help them.

Seeing the housefly and the mosquito leaders disappointed, the PMO tries to brighten their mood. He says that I can only give you a temporary solution. If you are interested in seeing a crowd whom you can attack then go to Shaheen Bagh.

To save the race from extinction they meet the leader of the Opposition

As a last resort, the mosquito and housefly leader decide to meet the leader of the opposition. The leader of the opposition is a bit surprised as nobody in the country has any expectations from him so how come houseflies and mosquitoes feel he can help them.

The Housefly and Mosquito leaders explain to him that he has a great skill in cleaning. After all, he has cleaned the entire opposition party of some great leaders. One of the most promising young leaders from Central India of his party has just been cleaned. He is, therefore, the best-suited man to clear the country of Covid-19 and save his motherland.

The leader of opposition tells the mosquito and housefly leader that he is   presently working on cleaning the country from the current ruling government. And once he has finished that he will help the country get rid of Covid-19.

Disappointed the housefly and mosquito leader come back empty handed

The leader of the houseflies and the mosquitoes return home. Suddenly a pall of gloom descends on the entire community. The fear of extinction is knocking on their door.

Both leaders look tired. As they retire to their home, the housefly leader starts washing his hands with soap. On the other hand, the mosquito leader sprays himself with a strong disinfectant.

The virus invasion can be only controlled by maintaining a proper hygiene
Lets attack the virus by maintaining hygiene

Suddenly an idea clicks to both. What if they ask their entire community to maintain hygiene. The houseflies have to wash their hands with soap after licking human beings. The mosquitoes will spray disinfectant over any member coming back from a vampire sucking round of human community. This way they can arrest the spread of Covid-19 amongst their community.

So remember guys. Just maintain proper hygiene, wash your hands with soap, maintain social distance and if you notice any initial signs of the Covid-19, report to the nearest health centre.
