A 20 lakh crore money heist by mosquitoes and houseflies
A money heist by mosquitoes and houseflies together! Have our leaders gone mad? This is how a mosquito reacted after listening to the news. The government has just announced a big package for humans to overcome the hardships created by the pandemic. The housefly community in the neighbourhood was perplexed as to why mosquitoes were celebrating. Somebody told them that the ruling government has just announced a Rs 20 lakh crore package. So it was celebration time! But how will it benefit them, both communities were keen to know?
Unraveling the FM’s broadcast
Business analysts and Economists from both the community were asked to listen to the Finance Minister broadcast on television to unravel the mystery. There was a lot of excitement seeing the FM on television. But the moment she started speaking in English, they got confused. None of them understood the language. Luckily Anurag Thakur, her junior minister, made their job easier by speaking in Hindi.
The learned class of mosquitoes and houseflies were thrilled to know that the biggest chunk of the 20 lakh crore had gone to the MHME sector. For them, MHME meant Mosquito and Housefly Mega Enterprise. Somebody in the audience corrected them that it’s not MHME but MSME – Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. MSME is meant for humans and not for them. Learning this, both the community were disappointed. After all, they have been living with humans for so long and deserved some share at least.
A national meet of mosquitoes to discuss money heist
The mosquito leader called a meeting of all the bloodsuckers to plan a money heist to get a share of the Rs 20 lakh crore. One brilliant professor mosquito suggested they should open an account under the Jandhan scheme to receive the direct transfer benefit. He had heard that the present government is claiming it to be their most successful scheme that had uplifted many poor people from poverty. But for that, they needed an Aadhar and none of the mosquitoes had one.
A team of scientists in the mosquito community were also in favour of a money heist of Rs 20 lakh crore. They wanted the funds to be utilized in research to make the dengue and malaria virus stronger. Ever since the coronavirus created the pandemic, humans have started ignoring dengue, malaria, chikungunya. They are not taking the mosquitoes seriously.
The housefly leader calls for an emergency meeting
The housefly community also started planning a money heist to take advantage of Rs 20 lakh crore. With the money, they wanted to educate the younger generation about how to spread cholera, gastroenteritis, tuberculosis amongst the humans. These diseases were now considered old world diseases so much that the You Tubers have not even heard of them. In the last 2 decades, humans have won the war against these diseases and they were no more considered life-threatening. Mosquitoes, on the other hand, had been releasing updated versions of dengue and chikungunya virus every year creating havoc among humans.
Planning the Money Heist
The challenge in front of the leaders of mosquito and housefly was how to plan a money heist to get a share of the Rs 20 lakh crore. So they meet over drinks. A blueprint of how to plan the money heist is created. It’s agreed that they will equally share the loot and let both the communities prosper.
Plan A is put in action: Lets loot the MSME’s
The first plan is put into action. Mosquitoes and houseflies will plan a money heist where the target was the MSME sector. After all, they were the biggest beneficiary of the 20 lakh crore benefit. So they approach the MSME corporate office. But they couldn’t find a soul there as during the lockdown everybody was at home. The MSME association president comes to know that the mosquito and housefly community are planning to rob them. He sends a Zoom invite along with a password.
The meeting happens at the scheduled time. The MSME president informs them that they are not the real beneficiaries. On being questioned who is then, he says that it’s the migrant labour who through increased MNREGA remuneration will get the maximum benefit. The mosquito leader looks at the housefly leader and smiles. Later he explains to the housefly that a money heist with the migrant labour is the easiest thing. If the whole world can fool them easily then why not mosquito and housefly? Robbing them is a matter of joke.
Plan B for a money heist is activated
The entire mosquito and housefly force assemble to attack the migrant labour. They reach their residential complex but are surprised to see that the entire place is deserted. A lone guard tells them that the entire migrant labour has gone to their hometown in UP and Bihar. The reason was that their landlord had asked them to move out as they couldn’t pay the rent. This was a surprise for them!
Migrant labour were earning sufficient money and supporting their family at home. So why couldn’t they pay their rent? The guard told them ever since the lockdown started the companies where they worked have sacked them and refused to support them monetarily. The mosquito and housefly leaders decide to rush to the railway station. The guard tells them to stop. He says that since trains are not running they all are walking 1000 km to their home. After all, it is home where they can find solace.
Lets loot the migrant labour
The mosquito and housefly leader tells the guard that they are planning a money heist with the migrant labour community. So where can they meet them? The guard is surprised that somebody is planning to rob a group of people who have lost everything in this lockdown. He tells them that you can meet them on any of the Indian highways. How will we recognize them is the next question? The guard tells them that anyone walking barefoot, carrying children on their back, thirsty and hungry, and asking for a lift is the migrant labour of India.
The mosquito and housefly rush to rob them but after seeing their plight on the roads decide to drop the idea of money heist. How can they suck blood or lick a community which has already given its blood and sweat to build a country like India?
