Dear Mr PM: We need a peaceful Dwarka and not a Mahabharata

Dear Mr PM – We need a government with a Vision and a Mission

Remembering Mahabharta
Once again the Mahabharata

The News Channels are getting a lot of meat these days especially with the controversial Citizen Amendment Act. On the social media side, the Twitterati community is busy chatting. Everybody is busy! The rioters are busy fighting the police. The intellectuals are busy giving new statements every day. The opposition is busy raking up the issue to fight with the ruling government blaming Mr PM.

What is happening?

Lets protest the non-violent way
The Man who showed us the non-violent movement

The present situation is so confusing that nobody knows what is right or what is wrong. Some are in favour of the Citizen Amendment Act (It has become an act as it has been passed by the Parliament and approved by the President of India). Others are not! Since our country is a democracy everybody has a right to protest. Our country became a democracy because of the non-violent protests of the Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Can all the protesters please follow his footsteps and protest without destroying the public property or by fighting with the police. The Police are only following the orders to bring peace in the city. Please don’t hit them by pelting stones or bottles. On the other hand, the top police brass should instruct their forces to act with restraint while dealing with a sensitive issue.

Dear Mr PM: We need a government to show us the right path like Lord Krishna

Our Immediate priorities are different.

The Common working man is suffering: Jobs are disappearing

We all know that the economy is slowing down. On one hand, our industry is not able to create new jobs and on the other to survive the slowdown, they are cutting manpower. People are losing jobs across industry and those who are not, are living in the fear of losing it one day. This has created an atmosphere of unpredictability in the country. People who were on a buying frenzy a few years back have gone into the savings mode. Nobody wants to splurge. This is impacting the business community which is witnessing negative sales.

The Business community is suffering

Dear PM the telecom industry is waging a losing war
Telecoms will soon disconnect

The telecom sector: One of the biggest job creators in the country is waging a losing battle. Vodafone, Airtel, Idea all have indicated that if they don’t get help from the government, they may shut shop. The kind of fees they have to pay to the government will make them go bankrupt.

We all have seen Reliance telecom going down the drain followed by BSNL and MTNL. But BSNL and MTNL were lucky as the government came to their rescue. If the government could rescue BSNL and MTNL, then why not the firms in the private sector. Just imagine if 1 or 2 big telcos close down. So many people will become jobless and what about their families. Each working member supports a family of 4-5. He will not be able to pay his kids tuition fees and find it difficult to even feed them. Finding a new job in a market where surplus manpower is available due to lay-offs will be extremely difficult.

Many sectors are suffering

The Auto sector is losing momentum
Got punctured

The Auto Sector: One of the biggest industries in the country is facing a slowdown for the last 6-8 months. Auto companies have reduced their working shifts from 3 per day to 1 per day as they are unable to find buyers for their cars. The temporary workers have been laid off.

Dear Pm the aviation sector may soon get grounded
Getting grounded

The Aviation Sector: Jet Airways has closed down. The fate of all the Jet employees from Pilots to crew to ground duty staff is unknown. I am sure only 30-40% would have found a job in the aviation or hospitality sector. Poor employees got a notice from the Income-tax authorities as Jet management failed to deposit the tax deducted from their salary into the government account.

Real estate sector is in bad shape
The Ghost Townships

The Real Estate Sector: Thousands of home buyers are waiting for their dream homes which the scrupulous builders have sold them. The author himself is a victim of Jaypee’s wish town Noida and has been paying a housing loan for the last 10 years without any solution in sight. On the other hand, HDFC from whom the author has taken a loan, reports profits year after year. People have lost their life-long savings waiting for the authorities to crackdown. But help is never in sight.

The Housewife is suffering

Inflation at the consumer level is on the higher side. Onion prices have crossed Rs 100 per kg and it has been this way for the last 3 weeks. You go and buy any vegetables and it is not less than Rs 80 per kg. Gone are the days when one used to buy vegetables at Rs 25-30 per kg.

School fees go up every year and higher education is becoming out of the reach of a common man. Parents have to take an education loan to get their kids admitted to an Engineering or a Medical college with no surety  whether they will get a job after completing the course.

The Senior Citizen is suffering

With Banks cutting interest rates on fixed deposits, it’s the retired community that gets affected the most.

The government’s rath is moving in a different direction.

CAB or CAA is not a priority for the ordinary citizen right now. So dear PM whether it is right or wrong but the country can’t be fighting over an issue which was non-existent for him just a month back.

What is CAB?

For starters CAB is Citizen Amendment Bill which after getting a Presidential nod has become a Citizen Amendment Act or CAA. CAA will provide citizenship to all religious minorities who have fled from the 3 neighboring countries – Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan due to religious persecution. These minorities are Hindus, Christian, Sikhs, Jain, Buddhists, and Parsi who will be entitled to Indian citizenship if they have entered India on or before December 31st, 2014. For acquiring Indian citizenship by any other foreigner of any other category, the naturalization process of staying in the country for 11 years to be eligible for citizenship stays.

The citizen of this country is not bothered about the National Register of Citizens which will again create havoc in the country. NRC aims to weed out illegal immigrants from India.

The Past has not been pleasant

Demonetisation was not in any way a welfare scheme for the ordinary citizen but still, it made them got through a painful process for a very long period.

GST has been implemented for the good of the country. But tinkering with the slabs regularly will keep the business community guessing. As per FM, the ministerial panel is looking into changing the GST slabs again.

The Roller-coaster ride of Budget – first taxing the foreign investors and then rolling it back was followed by a bonanza for the corporates by reduction of corporate taxes. But it has not helped to create more jobs except improving the bottom-line of the companies.

Dear PM for once tilt the balance in favour of common man
The balance in favour of Corporates

And last but not least when it comes to middle-class you always show them the mirage. Dear Mr PM you were quite magnanimous with the corporate so why this step-motherly treatment with the common man. Please reduce the income tax slabs for them also. Give them some respite from all the blunders you have created and squeezed them like a lemon till the last drop.

Mr PM we need a India where the kids are always smiling
Lets create a Happy India

Dear Mr PM , we only need a Government which has a vision for this country and its people. We don’t need a government that keeps creating chaos.

Help us Mr PM to help you in achieving the $5 trillion economy.
